THE PROCESS

THE PROCESS, JEWELRY   My hands were made to create things.

Each of my jewelry pieces are designed and produced with my own two hands using natural materials. Working mostly with sterling silver and brass, I try to use recycled metals as much as possible. I also enjoy working with leather, pearls and other natural stones. My metalsmith skills are self taught and I am continuously experimenting with different approaches and techniques to create new jewelry designs. The medallions for my necklace designs are created using a Delft Clay casting process, a technique that has been around for thousands of years. The molten metal is poured into a custom sand mold, creating a unique one-of-a-kind piece. Several steps of sanding and polishing then finishes the medallion. Most of my earring and and cross designs are created using a mill roller to achieve the desired thickness of the metal wire, and are then hand hammered into the desired form. Each piece of jewelry is uniquely hand made and no two creations are exactly the same.

THE PROCESS, PAINTINGS    Inspiration is everywhere and I want to create art as long as I’m alive.

My love of art is endlessly fascinating. Sometimes I become obsessed with a painting for hours until it speaks to me and tells me it is complete. Art takes me on a journey with an uncertain destination. The art I enjoy creating starts with a thought, a dream or a random visual inspiration. I then sketch the basic idea and transfer it to canvas and start the painting process. I love using both oils and acrylics, along with texturing paste and wax mediums. All of my paintings are original works and are available for sale on my website. I hope you enjoy my work.
